Susan M. Clark claims a multi-decade love affair with fabrics. Over this long time, she has exhibited many artworks, won awards, received grants, and written many articles and reviews. She currently concentrates on screen printing on repurposed textiles and embroidery, but she has made one-of-a-kind art chairs, garments and rugs. She often makes work with a personal political message. Occasionally, she incorporates sound and light interactivity into her pieces. She has lived for a decade in Japan, and a decade in Switzerland. Both countries art traditions have influenced her work.
