The University Art Galleries and the School for the Arts / Art & Art History, together with SK Printmakers, is proud to present:
Flatgrafika III
Flatgrafika III is Saskatchewan’s 3rd Printmaking symposium and festival, held this year at the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon.
Flatgrafika is where artists, educators, students, and print lovers converge to celebrate the art of printmaking. More than just a gathering, it’s a space to share ideas, spark collaboration, and grow a thriving print community in Saskatchewan and beyond.
For 2025 we are greciously supported by the University Art Galleries and the School for the Arts / Art & Art History.
Keynote Speaker
Printmaking, Presence, and Community: Building Connections
by Mackenzie Browning
Saturday, October 18th , 2025 at 3:00PM
The keynote will reflect on how printmaking and artist-run or non-profit spaces can be powerful tools for authentic community engagement. I will explore how we as artists can remain present and connected rather than performative in our practices, drawing on my own experiences with residencies and artist-run centres across Canada and the United States. I will also speak about how we can create balance and protect ourselves when offering emotional labour and connection to others, so that this work remains sustainable and reciprocal.
